Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2018 im Fachbereich Asienkunde, Asienwissenschaften, Note: 1,3, Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Masterarbeit stellt den Versuch dar, die politische, soziale und wirtschaftliche Situation der Schiiten in Ǧabal ʿĀmil innerhalb der knapp vierhundertjährigen Periode der Osmanischen Herrschaft zu beleuchten und den Fokus auf das Ende der schiitisch-osmanischen Beziehungen zu legen. Hierbei soll untersucht werden, wie die Nahḍa in Ǧabal ʿĀmil umgesetzt und dadurch die kulturelle Renaissance in Ǧabal ʿĀmil gefördert wurde. Des Weiteren wird ermittelt, wie sich der arabische Nationalismus in Ǧabal ʿĀmil etablierte, welche Rolle schiitische Persönlichkeiten aus Ǧabal ʿĀmil dabei spielten und welchen Einfluss sie auf den arabischen Aufstand hatten. Daran anknüpfend lautet die konkrete Fragestellung dieser Masterarbeit: Welchen Einfluss hatte die Nahḍa auf Ǧabal ʿĀmil und weshalb schloss sich die Region der arabischen Revolte gegen die Osmanen an? Durch seine religiösen-ethnischen Minderheiten wie den Schiiten, Drusen, Maroniten und anderen kleineren christlichen Konfessionen nimmt der Libanon eine Sonderstellung im Nahen Osten ein. Die Bekaa-Ebene im Osten sowie der südliche Teil des Landes stellen das Hauptsiedlungsgebiet der Schiiten dar. Ǧabal ʿĀmil ist die historische Bezeichnung des südlichen Libanons bis zur Gründung des modernen Libanons im Jahre 1920. Die osmanische Eroberung von Bilād as-Sām 1516 sollte erhebliche Auswirkungen auf die Schiiten in Ǧabal ʿĀmil haben. Der Osmanisch-Safawidische Konflikt verstärkte die Differenzen zwischen Ǧabal ʿĀmil und den Osmanen, da besonders amilitische Gelehrte Teil der safawidischen Aristokratie wurden. Im Gegensatz zu den meisten anderen libanesischen Gemeinschaften wurden die Schiiten von keiner auswärtigen Macht protegiert. Dem Unterliegen ständiger Verfolgung und dem damit verbundenen Rückzug in schwer zugängliche Bergregionen und unfruchtbare Gebiet
