Das Ziel ist die Wissenserweiterung über Schnittstellen-, Risiko- und Qualitätsmanagement in Bezug auf die prä- und innerklinische Versorgung von Notfallpatientinnen und Notfallpatienten. Notfallaufnahmen sind Ambulanzen in Krankenhäuser, die täglich 24 Stunden für Patientinnen und Patienten geöffnet sind und werden von jenen Menschen aufgesucht, die medizinische Hilfe benötigen. Notaufnahmen sind großen Herausforderungen ausgesetzt, da die Anzahl der Patientinnen und Patienten ständig steigt, allerdings sind die materiellen, räumlichen und personellen Ressourcen begrenzt. Nichtsdestotrotz müssen Notaufnahmen jederzeit für Notfallversorgungen von Patientinnen und Patienten gerüstet sein. Lebensbedrohlich verletzte oder erkrankte Menschen suchen das Krankenhaus entweder selbst auf oder werden mit einem Rettungsmittel dorthin transportiert. Wird eine Patientin oder ein Patient mit dem Rettungsmittel in eine Notfallaufnahme gebracht, findet ein Informationsfluss über diese Person zwischen dem präklinischen Rettungsteam und dem Team der Notfallaufnahme statt. Nach der Ankunft in der Notfallaufnahme findet ein wertschätzendes und strukturiertes Übergabegespräch vom Rettungsteam an das interdisziplinäre Personal der Notfallaufnahme statt. Dabei werden relevante Patienteninformationen verbal und schriftlich weitergeben. Hierbei wechselt die Verantwortung über die Patientinnen und Patienten vom Rettungsdienst zum Team der Notfallaufnahme.
