Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1,7, Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen (Neuphilologische Fakultät), Veranstaltung: Proseminar Drama, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: "Das Leben ist der Güter höchstes nicht, der Übel größtes aber ist die Schuld." Schuld und Unschuld - ein Thema welches seit Jahrhunderten von berühmten Interpreten und Literaten, wie im obigen Beispiel von Friedrich Schiller, immer wieder aufgegriffen und mit jeweiliger kultureller und zeitgeschichtlicher Prägung thematisiert wird. In besonderem Maße werden vor allem antike Tragödien, wie Sophokles' "König Ödipus" von diesem Themenkomplex beherrscht. Ein Großteil der Interpretationen und Niederschriften über diese Tragödie weisen eine starke Fixierung auf den Themenaspekt Schuld beziehungsweise Unschuld auf. Unschuld meint diesbezüglich die Nichtexistenz einer Schuld. Welche Bedeutung aber impliziert nun der Begriff 'Schuld'? Zur Lösung dieser Frage sollte man sich dem Begriff 'Schuld' auf der Grundlage unterschiedlicher Interpretationsansätze nähern. Schuld kann als juristische Kategorie betrachtet werden und beinhaltet dann einen juristisch relevanten Tatbestand, wobei im Drama vermehrt der Aspekt einer moralisch-ethischen Schuld thematisiert wird, welche durch das Fehlverhalten einer Figur zustande kommt. Inwieweit eine solche Schuld in Sophokles' "König Ödipus" erkennbar wird, soll Thema dieser Arbeit sein, und aus drei verschiedenen Perspektiven - der geschichtlichen, ödipalen und persönlichen - betrachtet werden, wobei besondere Aufmerksamkeit auf den letztgenannten Aspekt gelegt werden soll. Besonderes Augenmerk soll dabei stets auf die eingefügten Exkurse sowie auf die Vertiefung gelegt werden, welche eine tiefergreifende Beschäftigung mit einzelnen theologischen oder historischen Entwicklungen ermöglichen.
