Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Schulpädagogik, Note: bestanden, FernUniversität Hagen (Systematische Pädagogik), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Abhandlung wird der Frage nachgegangen, ob der Auftrag der Schule begrenzt ist auf die Vermittlung von Schulwissen ohne jeglichen Rekurs auf einen Bildungsauftrag. Ist das Thema Schule als Bildungsanstalt überhaupt noch zeitgemäß und sollte man sich des ohnehin schwierigen Begriffs "Bildung" nicht ersatzlos entledigen? Die zentrale These, Schule sei Lehr- und Lernanstalt und nicht Bildungsanstalt, soll hier kritisch beleuchtet und besprochen werden. Mit der Einführung von Leistungsvergleichsstudien muss Schule neu gedacht werden. Ähnlich wie schon Ende der 50er- und Anfang der 60er- Jahre mit dem "Sputnik- Schock" und dem Ausruf der "Bildungskatastrophe" von Georg Picht ist mit den Schulleistungstests TIMSS und PISA erneut der Bildungsnotstand in der Bundesrepublik ausgerufen worden. Als die Ergebnisse des ersten veröffentlichten PISA- Tests (2000) bekannt wurden, sprach man sogleich aufgrund der überraschend schlechten Ergebnisse vom PISA- Schock. Der einhellige Grundtenor der vielfältigen Bewertungen und Kommentare zu den Studien lautet zusammengefasst: Deutschland ist kein Bildungsland mehr und mit unserem Bildungssystem stimmt etwas nicht. Ein recht häufiger Einwand gegen die PISA- Studie lautet, sie messe nur Regelwissen, Kompetenzen und Kulturtechniken, aber keine Bildung. Wenn die Leistungstests also Kompetenzdefizite und Wissensmängel offenbaren, dann muss man sich darum kümmern. Die Frage lautet dann nicht, wie lässt sich in Zukunft mehr Bildung erreichen, sondern wie kann das Wissens- und Kompetenzniveau der Schüler angehoben werden. Ein Weg, die Qualität und Quantität des Schulwissens zu optimieren, besteht dann darin, dass Schulen sich Schulleistungstests unterwerfen, eine wirksame Evaluationskultur aufbauen, unmissverständliche Leistungsanforderungen formulieren und forciert
