About the Book
Seabeck Reunion celebrates haiku and senryu by attendees and presenters at the tenth annual Seabeck Haiku Getaway. This event, sponsored by Haiku Northwest, took place October 26 to 29, 2017 in Seabeck, Washington. The anthology features work by 54 poets, a foreword by John Stevenson, and an extensive introduction by editor Michael Dylan Welch. The book also showcases haiku by each featured speaker over this retreat's first ten years, followed by 162 poems in four themed sections: "It Happened at Seabeck," "Mountain Clouds," "Autumn Again," and "In Good Taste," the latter section commemorating the weekend's sensory theme of "taste" in haiku. The book also includes a rengay and winners of the 2017 Seabeck Haiku Getaway kukai (our anonymous haiku contest). In celebration of the retreat's tenth anniversary, the book concludes with Michael Dylan Welch's essay, "Ten Years of Seabeck Haiku Getaways," describing all ten retreats.
