SELL-F Leadership is a simplistic applicable tool that is designed to provide opportunities for growth in your personal and professional life, while guiding you to uncover your true self-identity. For years, I struggled with only identifying with my imperfections. Depending on my mood, I would either try to fix what was wrong, or think "I will never be good enough." Seldom would I pay attention to the positive things within me, because I had low self-worth. When I was in my early twenties my Aunt Pam often said to me, "You are beautiful and smart." I didn't fully grasp why she'd say that until one day when I was forty, I looked in the mirror and immediately reflected on my past. I thought, I wish I had seen my internal and external beauty back then. I went through the process of thinking about what I could've, should've, and would've done, but the bottom line was I didn't do it. It was in that moment when I realized that I couldn't do anything about the past except learn from it. I reflected on my present, got excited about my future, and decided I will live a life of wholeness every day. Wholeness started when I recognized that my flaws don't determine my self-worth and capabilities. They are simply guideposts for areas where I can improve.
SELL-F stands for Steady, Effective, Long Lasting- Future. This leadership tool will help you build a strong and firm internal foundation and assist you with discovering your "uniqueness."
When your self-confidence is high, you will lead yourself and others effectively and in absolute confidence. The feeling of emptiness and/or inadequateness will not be a part of your life because "you matter now" so your goals become meaningful and obtainable. The desire to fulfill your vision will be greater than remaining inert (inactive/dormant).
After I decided I wanted to live the best life possible, I had to go through a process of acceptance, healing, and forgiveness. There will be exercises to complete throughout the book. I took myself through these same exercises. Get a journal or notebook and something to write with. If possible, use your favorite colored pencils or pens. I noticed that writing with my favorite colors kept me more interested in doing the task. Keep your writing material near you, so you can complete the upcoming exercises.
Have you ever told yourself, "Today is the day for my change!" Have you ever said, "Something is about to happen" or had a strong feeling that something was about to happen? You wake up hoping and go through the day feeling today you're going to experience great change
