About the Book

In a climate of absolute greed and indifference, the American dream has become an illusion for most Americans, regardless of color. As it becomes more difficult for everyone to make ends meet the bloated American political machine perpetuates greed, hate and racial biases controlled by the wealthy one percent who reign down prices on us. It is the twenty first century yet most working individuals are struggling to get to work, as it takes more and more each year for transportation to get to work! Fewer and fewer Americans can maintain affordable utilities or rent as these cost have skyrocketed over the past few decades. Proof of this can be seen in the way that prices on necessities like gasoline have exploded over the past few decades unchecked by regulation as we now exceed our oil imports with oil exports and produce and serve most of this in high demand product worldwide, American made! This is one effect of Reaganomics and the "so called trickledown theory" his trickle down economic theories forced on all Americans during the 1980's where he proclaimed that as the rich got richer they would "trickle down enough economic crumbs to handle public needs! Of course everything trickled up, instead and tolls went from .75 cents to daily bridge tolls, in the New York Area, up to $15 dollars today. Buses average about $2.20 to $2:40 each way and the LIRR averages as close to $20.00 round trip! Redistricting and gentrification has spread through the cities of the nation as whites decide that they want to return closer to where they work which automatically prices blacks and other minorities out of their families heritages! Laws are passed or ignored to support and aid the "conservatives" who helps to move their point of view forward by force. Subliminally, the global networks exists to perpetuate known stereotypes and negative images of black men as their images are constantly flashed across countless numbers of plasma screens on the nightly news, nightly. "Can we all just get along?" Asked Rodney King, after his attempted murder in L.A. by L.A. P.D. officers so many years ago! THE RACE BLOG.. The "see through me" website exists to get all Americans, involved in the discussion about Racial Equality for All of this nation's citizens regardless of color! It is far past the time for Black citizens to be treated with equality and respect! A Black man was the first to die in the Revolutionary war so that this country could live up to its own constitution! "This constitution does not state that All men are created equal except for those born black" does it? THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES PREAMBLE: WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES IN ORDER TO FORM A MORE PERFECT UNION, ESTABLISH JUSTICE, INSURE DOMESTIC TRANQUILITY, PROVIDE FOR THE COMMON DEFENSE, PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE, AND SECURE THE BLESSINGS OF LIBERTY TO OURSELVES AND OUR PROSPERITY, DO ORDAIN AND ESTABLISH THIS CONSTITUTION FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!" THE 14TH AMENDMENT: "ALL PERSONS BORN OR NATURALIZED IN THE UNITED STATES, AND SUBJECT TO ITS JURISDICTION THEREOF, ARE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES AND OF THE STATE WHEREIN THEY RESIDE. NO STATE SHALL MAKE OR ENFORCE ANY LAW WHICH SHALL ABRIDGE THE PRIVILEGES OR IMMUNITIES OF CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES; NOR SHALL ANY STATE DEPRIVE ANY PERSON OF LIFE, LIBERTY OR PROPERTY, WITHOUT DUE PROCESS OF LAW; NOR DENY TO ANY PERSON WITHIN ITS JURISDICTION THE EQUAL PROTECTION OF THE LAWS!" Meanwhile In REAL LIFE...WAS IT NECESSARY FOR TWO NASSAU COUNTY POLICE CARS TO RESPOND TO TACO BELL IN MERRICK N.Y. IN 2008 BECAUSE I THREW MY CHANGE ON THE COUNTER. THEN I WAS CHASTISED BY ONE OFFICER WITH HIS FOOT ON THE TABLES BENCH TELLING ME HOW BIG AND INTIMIDATING I LOOKED TO THE TACO BELL MANAGER, AT 5'11" AND 195 LBS AS I THREW MY CHANGE DOWN. About the Author: Kevin Harrison aka Black Anthony aka "WHYY," was born to two Black professionals deep in the heart of Texas in the city of Houston. His mother was a college instructor at Texas Southern University and the University of Minnesota which required a very long commute. His Dad was a graduate of Texas Southern and Prairie View University and worked at Brown and Root, an electronics subsidiary of Halliburton, as a Foreman who "saw action" all over the state of Texas as an extremely rarely seen black supervisor during the 1950's and 1960's! All of this was accomplished at a time when America was definitely not "color blind" and for the great majority of women their "role" in America was to be caregivers and homemakers, regardless of color! Every TV show was white as so was every television commercial, and all personal hygene products . All toys sold in stores that resembled human beings were white as were the dolls and the snow. George Wallace had recently attempted to make a presidential run preaching a platform of racial hatred and separation. Everything in Texas in the late 1950's and early 1960's was separate and unequal regardless of the long implemented Emancipation Proclamation which in spirit and law had set the slaves free nationwide except in the state of Texas. The daily danger faced by everyone born black somehow escaped my immediate family and allowed me to be raised to believe that all people were indeed created equal because my highly educated parents did not preach inequality or racial segregation. As a matter of fact Kevin's mother's doctoral thesis was written on Afro American History in the United States. That fact led to the first and only time that Afro American History was added and offered as a part of the curriculum at my former High School as an elective, says Kevin. The first thing I noticed after we bought our home on Long Island in 1966 was the hostility in the neighborhood toward people like us, hostility which I still had'nt fully understood, I was just a small kid afteral! This was within a week after a racist restaurant cook and waitress tried to poison me at the age of ten one town over in "all white" Roosevelt. Later in Jr High there were the riots during the fight for equality and for the right not to hear the word "nigger" yelled through our hallways ever again! READ THE FULL STORY IN SHADES...
