When Jessica Rasdall was a freshman in college, she made a life-altering decision that resulted in the death of her best friend. With her life, as well as those of so many others, shattered, Jessica went to a bookstore in search of a self-help book. She couldn't find any on the shelves that she could relate to. Shattered breaks down her journey to "put a book on the shelf." Jessica tells her story of her journey from murderer to survivor while providing actionable steps and inspiration along the way. When life throws you a curveball, this book will show you that you can pick up your shattered pieces and use your own story to learn, heal, and connect with others.
Although there may not be a roadmap for your own journey, Shattered is intended to help you along the way.
"We've all been there. It doesn't matter what the circumstances are, we all know the moment that your life changes - the moment the person you once were is gone. We've all had those panic attacks 'in the hall' facing the consequences of choices we've made." - Aubrey Mathis of Life's Lemon-Aid
About the Author: When Jessica Rasdall was a freshman in college, she made a life-altering decision that resulted in the death of her best friend. With her life, as well as so many others, shattered, Jessica went to a bookstore in search of a self-help book, and couldn't find any that she could relate to.
She started to pick up the pieces, to try to make something out of what was left. In an effort to raise awareness, cope with her guilt and keep her friend's memory alive, she began sharing her story with high school students across the country. It was then that she discovered the power of storytelling. In their faces she saw them relate to personal tragedies and mistakes, but she also saw hope and willpower. She connected with her audience in ways she never anticipated. She saw change. And she knew she had to keep telling her story. Jessica spoke to over 15,000 young adults across the country before she was sentenced to prison.
Today, Jessica Rasdall continues to share her story of turning her "mess into a message" as a motivational speaker and public speaking strategist. She partners with business owners to craft stories and presentations that connect with their own audiences. By rewriting their stories, her clients are transforming what were once considered limitations into some of their greatest business assets.
Jessica has been featured on major international media outlets such as ABC's 20/20, Katie, The Guardian, MTV and much more. She has spoken to hundreds of high schools and Universities as well as business conferences, major organizations, and even the United States Navy.
