About the Book

Un couple d'étudiants loue une maison pour les vacances à un vieil homme qui vit dans l'obscurité. Lui et elle sont surpris, en pleine journée, les rideaux sont tirés, une odeur de naphtaline règne, des bougies sont allumées, aucune trace d'électricité. Il est blafard, presque raide.

Sur le lieu de villégiature, ils découvrent un manoir, le loyer serait acceptable pour un studio. Le parc est immense, un nombre démentiel d'arbres fruitiers, un jardin aux légumes abondants. Ils devront nettoyer la maison. Celle-ci n'a ni eau courante, ni électricité, ni gaz. Le tout-à-l'égout n'est pas prévu, peut-être un luxe que le propriétaire ne pouvait se payer.


Dès les premiers jours, des faits étranges se produisent, un fantôme semble hanter les lieux. C'est une maison hantée, et pourtant, ils sont loin du pays de Galles. Ce n'est pas Halloween. Phénomènes inexpliqués, ils sont paranormaux, le mot paranormal est lâché. Ce n'est pas un château, tout au plus un manoir, une belle maison bourgeoise. Pour certains, le paranormal est aussi une attraction Apparitions dans les couloirs, la peur montre son nez.

Frissons, labyrinthe où on tourne en rond, épouvante fantomatique, faits effrayants, passer la nuit au sein de cette maison est pire que de se coucher dans un cimetière. Une dame blanche se promène au salon. Ils ont presque envie d'appeler un Sir Stephen et une dame nommé Mary. Cette demeure est une énigme. Peut-être qu'une légende existe.

Un monstre qui n'est sans doute que surnaturel se promène au milieu jardin, une meute de loups l'accompagne. Il porte un masque d'arlequin. C'est une drôle d'idée d'avoir de tels animaux de compagnie.

Un démon agite surement ce monde, il a dû s'échapper d'Édimbourg, un rescapé du clan Stuart. Il serait plus aisé de pratiquer une visite nocturne dans un asile que de rester dans cette maison à minuit sonnant.

Se déambuler seule la nuit dans les catacombes serait moins effrayant.

Les habitants du village leur apprennent que les locataires de ce lieu ne restent pas plus d'une semaine, ils disparaissent au cours d'une nuit. Le lendemain, le propriétaire surgit et ferme la demeure à double tour. Ils se cachent derrière les rideaux pour le voir. Le voir leur donne froid dans le dos. Avoir peur est le commun des gens de las bas. Une meute de zombies le suit surement, une hypothèse, il est tellement bizarre.
