Cataclysm often receives no introduction. Habitually lacking a foreboding sign, a disastrous incident can strike without warning catching everyone in its path off-guard. Although people are aware of countless life-ending threats that occur with vicious intent and devoid of notice, folks live their lives expecting bliss. And why not, widespread annihilation is rare? Moreover, a free society cannot thrive if too many people live in fear of a premature and unnatural death, imagining demise at every turn. For this reason that potential is ignored and our country's leadership expects us to, otherwise quality life would cease long before an episode of physical downfall. On the other hand, should an indication of pending tragedy present itself, do you shout it out? Well, if it's an unconfirmed hunch maybe not... but a series of tangible and chronic hazards would reasonably present a different reaction. But then, another deterrent arises. People have cried wolf so many times that our rationale is sedated, often to the point of insensitivity. In addition, honest complainers can be branded as crazy and for little reason. This plight is tough to deal with, especially for an educated mind because this trend makes it difficult for a sane individual to illuminate problems. People simply don't want to expose looming tragedy at their own expense. Nevertheless, Sheryl, a professional in a comprehensive field has learned to explain tricky situations so well, the task has become standard procedure. But of course, how does she react when her spouse may be the one to fear? Perhaps he is her principal adversary and the source of endangering humanity? With too little time to contemplate...the genuine danger is exposed and it's an event more catastrophic than the United States has ever seen. Truthfully...what does she do now? Her brain is interpreting the facts and there isn't time to defend it...no possible way to deter it, and it's not feasible to manage millions to safety. Anyone would be confused. When you know catastrophe is coming but are told to conceal it, how do you respond? Do you secure your family and flee escaping with your lives while leaving others to surely perish, even your closest friends. Do you tell everyone, though few will believe you? And if they did, no doubt the pandemonium will cause deaths too. So, do you embrace the last few moments of life? It doesn't matter. Terrorism is alive and adapting... but will the right people believe you.
About the Author: Most people would agree that I have not accomplished much or risen to the pinnacle of prominence. Certainly I haven't become independently wealthy, traveled the world, experienced Hollywood fame, been the limelight of notoriety, held a career in the public eye, or attained a high paying profession. Rarely have I been the center of attention, influenced groups of people or impressed my way up the corporate ladder and never have I been the cornerstone of popularity or moved the masses with my vision. I haven't been celebrated for the life I've lived nor had illustrious people tout my worth. However, I have tried to make every day count to achieve objectives within my reach, including the groundwork for my children's future. I have plenty in spite of what's publicized as necessary for a grand life and I am extremely gratified of one particular success. More importantly she is proud of me. I have spent nearly all of my adult life with a woman who makes me whole and keeps my spirits unbroken. I have hopelessly walked in the ray of her appeal since we met and our marriage is the one triumph I have never questioned. Of course, we have had difficulty and trials of emotion along the way, but since my heart is frequently filled with such joy merely being a spectacle in her life, there just isn't enough room for those unhealthy memories. With her I am significant, honorable and at the heart of her indisputable love and devotion, and no source of income or single other event could make me feel more of a man. I am satisfied, content and will one day pass into the heavens knowing I have done well. In fact, I have flourished being fortunate to have found my better half. Though I haven't been a role model for Christianity, God placed her in my life anyway and I have repeatedly thanked him for that. I seldom prayed aloud, but somehow he knew what I needed and delivered me an enduring companion and three pleasant and worthy sons thereafter. It is true that most of the plans, hopes, and dreams I made in my youth are vastly different from what actually transpired, but strangely they ended up being substantial, rewarding, meaningful, and what I wanted after all. To the world we are a regular family but to me and my wife we are exceptional. No doubt God feels the same. Yet I have always felt unfinished, having not put my words and imagination on paper for the world to see. I believe everyone has a story to tell...and so many would like to know of it.
