Sinrazón, ein Drama, das in der Psychiatrie spielt, im Spanien der zwanziger Jahre des vergangenen Jahrhunderts. In der "Nervenklinik" werden, angelehnt an Sigmund Freuds psychoanalytische Theorie des Unbewussten im Zusammenhang mit surrealistischem Gedankengut, Heilungsversuche an seelisch kranken Patienten durchgeführt, von tragikomischen, dadaistisch anmutenden Szenen begleitet. Ratio, Verstand, Vernunft werden in Zweifel gezogen. Die traditionelle Psychiatrie wird in Frage gestellt. Das Schauspiel Sinrazón scheint die antipsychiatrische Bewegung späterer Jahrzehnte vorwegzunehmen. Zum ersten Mal liegt das 1928 in Madrid uraufgeführte "Prosa-Stückchen in drei Akten" auch in deutscher Sprache vor (die hervorragende Übersetzung ist von Petra Zickmann). Sinrazón, ein damals wie heute avantgardistisches Werk, wird endlich auch den Lesern zugänglich, die die Literatur der unvergessenen "Generation 27" Spaniens schätzen und bisher keine Gelegenheit hatten, dieser Rarität der Theaterliteratur zu begegnen. Erstaunlich aktuell wirkt das Theaterstück, da in mancher Hinsicht Parallelen bestehen zwischen dem Agieren der Unvernunft auf der Bühne und der Tendenz zur Irrationalität in unserer Gesellschaft. - Mit Illustrationen von Martina Kügler - Die Herausgeberin, Doris v. About the Author: Der spanisch-andalusische Autor Ignacio Sánchez Mejías, 1891 in Sevilla geboren und 1934 in Madrid gestorben, blieb als Dramatiker, der sich schon im frühen zwanzigsten Jahrhundert von Psychoanalyse und Surrealismus inspirieren ließ, in Deutschland weitgehend unbekannt. Bevor er sich einen Namen als Schriftsteller machte, war er in Spanien vor allem als Matador de Toros, als Stierkämpfer, bekannt. Er gehörte zu den Gründern der literarischen "Generation von 1927", deren hervorragendster Vertreter Spaniens großer Dichter Federico García Lorca war. Mit 43 Jahren verstarb Sánchez Mejías an den Folgen der Hornverletzung durch einen Stier. Den Tod seines geliebten und bewunderten Freundes betrauert Lorca in seiner berühmten Elegie, dem "Llanto por Ignacio Sánchez Mejías" (1935). Aus den Worten der Totenklage "Kein Fürst war je in Sevilla, den vergleichen man könnte mit ihm, kein Degen je wie sein Degen, kein Herz wie sein hochherzges Herz" hören wir die Verehrung Lorcas für den großartigen, vielfältig begabten Menschen und Torero Ignacio Sánchez Mejías.
