Se fijará en que el oro del Perú lo deben cruzar el istmo de Panamá a lomo de mula y las asalta. Nota que en el Pacífico los españoles no tienen piratas y se cuela por el estrecho de Magallanes para caerles por sorpresa pero queda atrapado sin poderse devolver y no le queda más salida que navegar por en medio de ancho Pacífico hasta llegar a las islas de las especias. Al final circunnavega el orbe convirtiéndose en el segundo hombre que lo hace y el primer inglés. La reina lo nombra Sir y se hace político. Esta vida le aburre y consigue volver al mar a continuar con sus ataques y saqueos hasta el momento de su muerte. Una novela biográfica llena de veleros, vientos, tormentas, ataques, cimarrones, botines, ardides y estrategias. Una aventura por la geografía de un mundo por descubrir y conquistar, una época para hacer mapas nuevos, probar lo que nunca se ha comida, y ver lo que es difícil de creer.
