About the Book

English Summary: A tour of Wolf Spemann's sculpture garden in Wiesbaden provides us with an overview of the artist's work from the period between 1953 and 2007. This volume aims to introduce a broader audience to this hidden gem that has an importance beyond its local region. The result is a portrait of Wolf Spemann as a sculptor and as a critical thinker. The documentation of the sculptures in the garden serves as a first inventory of all of the works of art in the possession of the artist. Those art works that are described in detail along with their illustrations were selected in close cooperation with Wolf Spemann. A list of his sculptures to be found in the garden as well as his works in public and semi-public locations throughout Wiesbaden provide a basis for further research on Spemann's work from an art history perspective.
