About the Book

Sleep paralysis, a term I didn't know existed before having this terrible experience which traumatized me for several days and nights. Intrigued by this strange, mysterious and terrifying phenomenon, I carried out extensive research in order to find answers to my questions which I report in this intriguing and fascinating work in order to better understand this parasomnia which affects 30% of the world population. . This book is a comprehensive study on sleep paralysis which brings together ancient and recent testimonies, the origin of this myth, a declassified Top Secret CIA file including experiments carried out on REM sleep, stories dating back to Antiquity up to our time, also my personal experience, advice, as well as the objective view of science and the stories of historians on this sleep disorder which I classify as a paranormal phenomenon.

The Strangler of Dreams, that is how I named it, some people and civilizations have named it otherwise, is a dark creature with a demonic appearance which appears emerging from thick black smoke in the sleep of these victims petrified with fear. She takes pleasure in persecuting the sleepers at her mercy, unable to exercise the slightest movement, and strangles her prey by squeezing her throat until she suffocates sitting on her chest.

She is often accompanied by other equally frightening ghostly entities, such as a sublime young woman (succubus) or a handsome young man (incubus) who, after having seduced you with her beauty and her dream body, rejoices, and transforms as a demon. Beware of those who under the influence of these evil presences will never fall asleep in the same way again. Many horror film directors and artists of all kinds have been inspired by their experiences to tell their stories, including the famous French writer Guy de Maupassant who was pursued by this creature for part of his life, from 1886 until his death. died in 1893. Between 15,000 and 30,000 people (according to inquisitorial historians) were burned at the stake during the Inquisition for having testified to having been attacked by the devil or demons during their sleep, Others ended up in a psychiatric hospital. We find this creature and these entities mentioned among the ancient Greeks by the father of doctors Hippocrates as early as the 5th century BC. BC and the Sumerians 2400 BC AD

This book is a source of information on sleep paralysis and the state of consciousness during REM dreams.
