Das oberste Ziel ist hierbei nicht der Verkauf von Produkten, sondern das Vertrauen, die Zufriedenheit und die Bindung des Klienten. Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen muss man jedoch ganz vorne beginnen, noch vor dem Vertragsabschluss, sogar vor dem Verkaufsgespräch, nämlich beim Kennenlernen und dem dazugehörigen Small Talk. Denn ohne Small Talk ist es schwierig ins Gespräch zu kommen. Das "Eis" zwischen den Geschäftspartnern muss irgendwie gebrochen werden. Und mit Hilfe von Small Talk ist das ganz simpel. Small Talk gewinnt in der Freizeit sowie auch in der Geschäftswelt immer mehr an Bedeutung. Er bringt neben den Chancen, die sich einem öffnen, auch Risiken mit. Die Größe des Einflusses auf den Verkaufserfolg und die darauf aufbauende Beziehung zwischen den Kunden und der Firma muss unbedingt untersucht werden. Damit man die Bedeutung der ersten paar Minuten richtig einschätzen kann.
