About the Book

Professional social work education was initiated in India through influence of American professional social work, which resulted in a clinical orientation in social work in India. Social work education developed with the influence of government of India schemes, which resulted in welfare orientation in social work in addition to the clinical one. Need for a developmental orientation leading to systems change was identified as more appropriate for developing nations. Several developmental initiatives started in social work practice and education, when action groups, social movements and institutions of development studies started emerging in the country. Today, social work practice and education are significantly developmental. The author of the book, "Social Work : An Integrated Approach" discusses about the growth of professional social work focussed on facilitation of empowerment and change which is based on an inter-related system of values, theory and practice that involves the conscious application of values, philosophy, principles, methods and skills in social work practice.     A Thrilling But Totally Believable Murder Mystery

    Read this in one evening. I had planned to do other things with my day, but it was impossible to put down. Every time I tried, I was drawn back to it in less than 5 minutes. I sobbed my eyes out the entire last 100 pages. Highly recommend!
