About the Author: Tanya Ferguson earned her bachelor's degree in communication studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro after the birth of her first child. Prior to having children, she worked as a registered nurse in a geriatric unit in a hospital in Greenwich, Connecticut, on a cardiac unit in a hospital in North Carolina, and as a school nurse working mostly with elementary school children. Originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, she now resides in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Since her relocation, she has been very involved in both of her kids' schools, her days truly revolving around children-both her own and others. She is a Boy Scout troop leader for her son's second grade class, a volunteer nurse at her daughter's middle school, a PTA member, Booster volunteer, and grade level room mom. She has been married for sixteen years and has an eleven-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son.
