About the Book

"Somos pantallas" podrá parecer un título provocativo. En cierta medida lo es. Porque hablamos de comunicación y lo menos que hacemos es comunicarnos. Porque hablamos de diálogo y lo menos que hacemos es dialogar y mucho menos tratar de lograr todos juntos la armonía de los contrarios. Porque en las organizaciones la comunicación se pierde cuando ni siquiera se sabe lo que está haciendo el otro.

Quizás prima el egoísmo, la envidia, el rumor y la incertidumbre, vale decir, las sombras del ser humano. Porque hace falta que como humanos "tele-e-videnciemos" la realidad informativa y comunicacional, en el entendido de que hay que poner en evidencia el lado oculto de los medios masivos, de Internet, de las redes sociales, de las aplicaciones tecnológicas, de los algoritmos y de la Inteligencia Artificial. Porque la televisión sigue siendo la madre de todas las pantallas. Coexisten las televisoras online, las distribuidoras de series y películas como Netflix y los prosumidores (consumidores y productores de contenidos en la red) que tienen un canal en YouTube.

"Somos Pantallas" porque generamos narrativas similares a las de la televisión tradicional, en plataformas como Instagram y TikTok. Porque nuestra respuesta negativa ante tantas pantallas es el zapping o cambio de canal ya sea porque perdimos interés por lo que vemos o escuchamos o porque nuestra manera de "Ver" el siglo XXI es desde una mirada inquieta que requiere de narrativas fragmentadas. Porque siguen predominando los estereotipos de belleza que son propagados no solo por la publicidad sino por los mismos usuarios de las redes sociales.

Ellos aprovechan su rol de "influencer" para patrocinar algún producto de belleza o para propagar imaginarios, fantasías y tendencias idealizadas en torno a la mujer. Porque estamos tejidos de redes emocionales y nos enredamos para dar cuenta de nuestros más genuinos intereses. Porque preferimos ser virales y tendencias, estar amarrados a un celular y seducidos por las aplicaciones tecnológicas sin intentar una relación humana libre de toda mediación tecnológica. Hasta aquí nuestros porqués. Ustedes listen otros porqués desde las revelaciones de sus propias experiencias audiovisuales.

Por cierto, daremos cumplida nuestra misión si los amables lectores que han resistido esta introducción toman conciencia de los efervescentes cambios en la sociedad red que demanda de soluciones democráticas a favor de ciudadanías conectadas o no con las redes sociales. Esperanzados por un viento fresco que sople a favor de una humanidad más llevadera y plausible. ¡Que esta esperanza sea el sonido de este libro desde ahora!
