About the Book
These sonnets are presented with wish that they be beloved of the angels, whom the poetess wishes will smile from on high unto her gifts of lovely one hundred and forty-seven sonnets. They are of a classicism that compels perhaps them to be noticed, of scholars, ? That is to say, that they could be placed on par with the best sonnet sequences in the English language, at least Spenser, Sidney, Shakespeare, Browning, and Millay, although Wordsworth has more in number. There is not however any more of these echoing of the splendid perfection of an exact classic, than prayerfully this present collection. Be blessed to hearken unto a delight of the senses of the mind; find in the reading of this book, that which awakens the best being; be swayed by the passion and truth together like a beautiful symphony in a summer's day in the park, with nature's happiness attendants. These sonnets have for topics, many that are pertinent to modern life, which renders the interest, more, because they discuss, feminism, international culture, international history, environmentalism, nature, and not only, love, which subject is not neglected, in a prayerful passionate intensity that seems to render of this book, perhaps too many of the poems herein, to be worthy of being among the top poems of history to memorize and to adore, than could actually be allowed in the canon. The passionate nature of these sonnets would compel them to be read, equally passionately, and indeed, as they were written in a trance, as the poetess often finds herself to be caught up within the dimensional portents of time and space that are somewhat beyond the ordinary existence, and indeed facilitates through much meditation, such calling of such trances unto herself, and in fact, this trance she would carry with her to a library where she did not know exactly why she was there yet she happened upon a huge set of burgundy and gold leather bound volumes, nearly one and a half feet long by one feet wide, and very dense with gilt edged pages, from about 1912, a history of the world written in twelve volumes, which read as if it were a fairyland history from beyond, with all of the main events in world history told as if they were from a perspective of the morality studies of angels, and this authoress was inspired by these books to open the pages randomly, and to write a sonnet for each scene from history that she found therein upon that page, and the two sonnet crowns of historical characters lives' read morally, are from this wondrous experience. To believe and to buy, would be blessed, because then, the gift can be given, of yet another sonnet sequence in the English language, which has mostly since the heyday of the nineteenth century, been bereft of the sensuous, the signing, the sensations, of newness, of genius, of sonnets, which the poetess, wishes this book, to prove of itself, that it is!
