The Southern cuisine is among the favorite one for many individuals. It is a blend of the traditional and the modern and the old and the new. It is called Southern cooking or Southern cuisine because of the place where it initially appeared and that is the southern regions of America and some other parts of the world. It is well known that the corn is corn is considered to be the basic ingredient of many Southern recipes. Whenever you think of corn, probably you have some Southern recipes in your mind. The Native American Indians really loved corn, so they even introduced it to the Europeans during their invasion.

The Europeans were taught how to prepare and cook the corn. Besides cooking only the corn, they combined it with a pork meat. This food combination was introduced by the Spanish soldiers during the Spanish invasion in the mid 16th century. Africans also left their mark in the Southern cuisine by adding eggplants, collard greens, watermelon and okra. These ingredients were imported together with the slaves from this part.

The breading includes a fresh covering or outside to the outside. Branches are becoming more and more popular. They usually are part of the informal meetings or some feasts and celebrations. The Southern brunch usually consists of sandwiches with vegetables and meat or some fruit and chocolate cakes, smoothies and so on. Desserts are the best part when we try to discover a new cuisine.

Cakes are the most popular treats in the Southern cuisine. These cakes usually have several types of creams (vanilla and chocolate creams are the most popular). Sometimes some nuts could be added (like walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds and so on) or some jams and fruits like banana, orange, strawberry and so on. The Southern pies are also popular but not as popular as the cakes.

There are varieties of Southern recipes which will satisfy the taste of many people. There are many options to choose from, no matter if it is breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. The Southern recipes are well- known and really popular and they are prepared by many people every day.
