Die Kinderrechtskonvention der Vereinten Nationen ist ein Meilenstein zum Schutz der Rechte von Kindern und Jugendlichen. Sie ist das Ergebnis der Wahrnehmung leider auch heutzutage noch stattfindender Ereignisse. Letztlich ist diese Regelung der Vereinten Nationen zum Schutz der Kinderrechte aber auch eine Konsequenz aus den Ereignissen, welche sich zu Zeit der Industrialisierung zugetragen haben. Nun lässt sich die These aufstellen, dass die Gesichtspunkte - Armut, fehlende Bildung und soziale Sicherheit - entscheidende Faktoren bei der Entstehung von Kinderarbeit zur Zeit der Industrialisierung waren. Diese Hausarbeit soll aufzeigen, sowie die Behauptung untermauern, dass die sozialen Unterschiede - vor allem zwischen der Arbeiterschaft und dem Bürgertum - maßgeblich zur Entwicklung der Kinderarbeit zur Zeit der industriellen Revolution beigetragen haben. Dabei wird die Analyse des deutschen Zeitungsartikels "Über die Beschäftigung der Kinder in den englischen Fabriken und Bergwerken" aufschlussreiche Beispiele für die gesellschaftliche Gegensätzlichkeit zwischen den verschiedenen sozialen Klassen offerieren. Auch der Vergleich mit der englischen Originalquelle "The Condition and Treatment of the Children Employed in Mines and Collieries in the United Kingdom" wird diesen Kontrast der sozialen Differenzierung zwischen Arbeiterklasse und Bürgertum weiter betonen.
