(Aristoteles 384 v. Chr.; - 322 v. Chr.) Jahr 73 vor Christus Nichts deutet auf einen Aufstand, als es einer kleinen Gruppe von Gladiatoren gelingt, der Schule in Capua zu entkommen. Schnell entwickelt sich ein Flächenbrand, der das ganze Land erfasst. Unter der Führung des Thrakers Spartacus schlugen sie die römischen Legionen, überall in der Welt siegreich, ein ums andere Mal. Fast drei Jahre beherrschten die Aufständischen die italienische Halbinsel und das Zentrum der damaligen Weltmacht, Rom. -------------------------------------- Sklave-Sein, was bedeutet das, ausser: Besitz zu sein, rechtlos zu sein, was bedeutet es für das -Ich-. Der Roman versucht dies zu zeigen durch Szenen, die, wie beiläufig, in die Handlung einfliessen. -------------------------------------- Spartacus, ein Thraker, nicht wirklich greifbar aus dem Nebel der Geschichte, denn im Vergleich mit Hannibal oder Alexander, gibt es kaum Überlieferungen. Hannibal ist vor allem die Schlacht von Cannae. Spartakus hat keine(überlieferte) Schlacht, die andere überschattet, keine Überquerung der Alpen, stattdessen eine Reihe von Klischees. Dieser Roman versucht den Aufstand als, - das Unmögliche - zu schildern. Der Film Bladerunner stand(trotz eines völlig anderen Genre) Pate, für die Form, das Unmögliche, subtil, sichtbar zu machen. Es gibt keine Ähnlickeit zur Handlung, oder den Charakteren, es ist die Form/die Idee, - Unmöglichkeit eines Vorhabens -, darzustellen.
