Insbesondere vor dem Hintergrund alarmierender Ergebnisse der PISA-Studie von 2022, welche die Lesekompetenz deutscher SuS auf einem historischen Tiefpunkt zeigten, wird die Notwendigkeit eines sprachsensiblen Ansatzes im Unterricht immer dringlicher. In den letzten zwei Jahrzehnten wurde vermehrt Forschung zum sprachsensiblen Geschichtsunterricht (SSGU) betrieben. Dennoch zeigen Studien und Erfahrungsberichte, dass die Implementierung sprachsensibler Maßnahmen im Geschichtsunterricht auf Schwierigkeiten stößt. Insbesondere die Perspektive der Lehrkräfte und ihre Überzeugungen, auch als beliefs bezeichnet, sind dabei von entscheidender Bedeutung. Die vorliegende Arbeit zielt darauf ab, die Lücke in der Forschung zu schließen, indem sie die Perspektive der Lehrkräfte hinsichtlich sprachsensibler Maßnahmen im Geschichtsunterricht untersucht. Dabei sollen nicht nur bestehende Kenntnisse und praktische Anwendungen von sprachsensiblen Ansätzen erfasst werden, sondern auch Herausforderungen und Schwierigkeiten bei der Umsetzung identifiziert werden. Um diesem Ziel gerecht zu werden, wird eine qualitativ-empirische Forschungsmethode angewendet. Durch Interviews mit Geschichtslehrkräften sollen Einblicke in ihre Überzeugungen, Erfahrungen und Einschätzungen bezüglich sprachsensibler Maßnahmen gewonnen werden. Die Ergebnisse dieser Untersuchung sollen nicht nur den aktuellen Forschungsstand erweitern, sondern auch konkrete Ansatzpunkte für die Weiterentwicklung des sprachsensiblen Geschichtsunterrichts liefern.
