About the Book

Mrs. Vier, known to her family as "Granny Vier," wants nothing more than to keep her grandchildren together. She wants all seven to be safe, happy, and loved. In this novel about the power of family and the nature of secrets, Granny will be forced to come to terms with the actions she took to give her grandchildren this secure life. Somewhere in the past there lurks a devastating secret that could tear her family apart.

It all begins when Granny's son comes back into her life after a mysterious absence. Zeno had disappeared after the car accident that took the life of his sister Synthia. After the devastating crash, Synthia's twin, Letha, was placed in a psychiatric ward, and Granny was forced to raise Synthia's seven children on her own. Granny mourns both for the daughter who died and for the one who was locked away.

Now, Zeno has come back with hidden intentions. His actions threaten to uncover a secret that ties Granny to a secretive doctor and a mysterious asylum.

This family drama combines Southern Gothic style with a tantalizing mystery. It presents the tragic story of a good woman forced to make heart-wrenching choices.
