Im Hauptseminar Magisches Prag im WS 06/07 haben wir uns mit der literarischen Darstellung der Stadt Prag sowohl aus kulturgeschichtlicher Perspektive als auch mit Hilfe unterschiedlicher theoretischer Ansätze beschäftigt. In dieser Arbeit soll es nun darum gehen, noch einmal gezielt verschiedene Stadt-Theorien an nur einem Text vorzustellen: Allzu laute Einsamkeit von Bohumil Hrabal bietet sich hierfür vorzüglich an, weil hier ganz unterschiedliche Beschreibungen und Vorstellungen von Prag in vereint werden. So ist zum Beispiel der Entwurf von Prag als magisch-mythischer Raum zu nennen - was ist Fiktion, was Imagination, was schließlich doch Realität? Ist die Stadt ein konkretes Abbild der Wirklichkeit oder steht sie als Sinnbild oder Struktur für etwas ganz anderes? Wie verhält sie sich im Kontext zum eigentlichen Geschehen, wie ist sie in Bezug und in Beziehung zu den handelnden Personen zu setzen? Erfährt die Stadt im Verlauf der Geschichte eine Wandlung oder bleibt sie von Anfang bis zum Ende eher statisch? Eine wichtige Rolle in Allzu laute Einsamkeit spielt auch das Verhältnis vom Kunstraum zum Stadtraum. So flüchtet sich der Protagonist Hanta in eine Gegenwelt aus Büchern und auch andere Personen im Text haben sich ihre eigene kleine Kunstwelt erschaffen. Schließlich spielt noch die kulturelle, politische und soziale Mehrschichtigkeit in diesem Text eine Rolle, die sich auch in differierenden Beschreibungen der Stadt und ihrer Umgebung widerspiegelt.
