Vidushi Sharma is currently Director, Suvi Eye Institute and Lasik Laser Centre. She completed her MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. She then did post graduation in ophthalmology from the prestigious Dr Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS, New Delhi. Thereafter, she pursued ophthalmic education in United Kingdom and obtained FRCS degree from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK. She then joined as a senior resident in the Oculoplastic Unit of RP Centre, AIIMS, and worked there for three years. She then pursued her interest in oculoplastic surgery further at the Sydney Eye Hospital, University of Sydney, Australia, and completed fellowship in oculoplastic surgery and pediatric ophthalmology subspecialities. Dr Sharma returned to India and set up the SuVi Eye Institute and Research Center with her husband, Dr Suresh K Pandey, at Kota, Rajasthan, in 2006. She has published more than 30 papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals including such prestigious ones as Archives of Ophthalmology and the American Journal of Ophthalmology. She has also presented papers at major international ophthalmic conferences including the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She has been invited to deliver keynote lectures related to changing trends in medical practice, ophthalmic practice management, group ophthalmic practice, etc. by various forums.Suresh K Pandey a medical graduate of Rani Durgawati University, Netaji Subhash Chandra Medical College, Jabalpur, MP; he completed his residency in ophthalmology from prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. He worked at Storm Eye Institute, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC, USA (mentor Late Prof. David J. Apple), John A Moran Eye Center, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, USA (mentor Prof. Randall J. Olson) and Sydney Eye Hospital, Save Sight Institute, University of Sydney, Australia (mentor Prof. Frank Billson) from 1998 to 2006.Dr Pandey returned to India in 2006 to establish Suvi Eye Institute and Lasik Laser Center at Kota, Rajasthan. He has presented more than 100 scientific papers in various international ophthalmological meetings and written more than 100 scientific papers/communications, 40 textbook chapters, and 8 ophthalmic textbooks. His book Pediatric Cataract Surgery (Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, USA) remains the best-seller on this topic. Dr Pandey was awarded ‘Achievement Award’ by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He received several prestigious awards for his research and surgical innovations, which include awards for the surgical videos, scientific posters and papers in the national and international ophthalmology congresses such as American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS) and Asia Pacific Academy of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (APACRS).
