Lizentiatsarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Filmwissenschaft, Note: gut, Universität Zürich (Filmseminar), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Lizentiatsarbeit befasst sich nun mit den Spielfilmen von Steven Soderbergh in Hinblick auf diese Mischformen, die sich aus Merkmalen der Moderne bzw. der Art-Cinema-Narration und der Postmoderne zusammensetzten. Um diese Mischformen zusammenzufassen, wird nach der Gegenüberstellung der verschiedenen filmhistorischen 'Tendenzen' der Begriff des Postmodern Art Cinema geschaffen, um die verschiedenen Aspekte der Moderne bzw. der Art-Cinema-Narration und der Postmoderne unter einen Nenner zu bringen. Das wichtigste Merkmal der Moderne ist dabei die filmische Selbstreflexion und bei der Postmoderne ist es die Selbstreferenzialität. Der erstere Begriff sieht den Film als geschaffene Fiktion an, der sich auf die Alltagsrealität des Autors bezieht, und der zweite Begriff definiert den Film als konstruierte Fiktion, die den Film im Kontext anderer filmischer Werke interpretiert. Das Untersuchungsinteresse der Lizentiatsarbeit ist somit die Analyse des filmischen Gesamtwerks von Steven Soderbergh mit der These, dass die Filme eine Mischform von modernistischer Selbstreflexivität und postmoderner Selbstreferenzialität darstellen. Diese Mischformen werden zusätzlich im Kontext des gesamten Merkmalkomplexes der Moderne bzw. der Postmoderne interpretiert, um eine Aussage darüber zu machen, ob sie dem Postmodern Art Cinema zugeordnet werden können oder nicht. Wichtig ist es auch festzuhalten, dass diese Untersuchung sich einer neoformalistischen Filmanalyse bedient, da der Film als Kunst aufgefasst wird, die er durch seine filmischen Mittel produzieren kann. Die Gewichtung der formalen Mittel und deren Analyse im filmischen Werk ist deshalb wichtig, da nur sie eine Aussage über das wesentliche Konstruktionsprinzip einer Geschichte machen kann.4 Die Fragen, die in dieser Lizentiatsarbeit somit beantwortet werden, sind im Theor
