About the Book

The son of a former adventure, turned husband and father who has taught him the values of loyalty and to shoot when he has too, leaves on a trip with an uncle, to visit the City of New Orleans, as a present for his sixteenth birthday, there Jack has an encounter with a braggart and trouble maker, the son of a wealthy man who has no compassion or respect for anyone. After the fatal encounter Jack is helped by a doctor who comes to his aid and takes him to his south Texas home, the doctor decides to teach him medicine along with another boy of the same age who is the son of the doctors ranch foreman. The boys form a strong friendship, five years pass and the boys study hard and plan to go east to finish their studies in a medical school During the past five years Jack must defined himself from unlawful bounty hunters sent by the unscrupulous father who has posted a bounty on the boy. Four outlaws who want the reward mistakenly kill the doctor, and the chase is on across South Texas and Mexico, with a surprise ending.
About the Author: During the depression my family moved from place to place, finally ending up in California, I graduraded school in 1951, the next year i joined the army for three years, after I got out I worked several factory jobs later I worked as a truck driver then stuntman/actor, I wrote two wild west type plays, then went back into the tucking business, first local and then cross country for over 23 years, then I got into law enforcement, I worked as a Deputy Marshal for five years, and a Deputy Constable for three years, then the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. I retired the last of Feb. 2000, then in 2005 I took a job as a labor foreman in Iraq for 13 months. Now I have again gone back to writing, This is the third book of the Stevens Odyssey, the first, "The Stevens Odyssey {The Beginning}," was a winner in the 2009 in the Office of Letters and Light National Novel writing contest. The second "The Stevens Odyssey {the Journey}" a winner in 2010 nationl writing contest.
