Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Sozialwissenschaften allgemein, Note: 2,1, Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (Institut für Politikwissenschaft), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im März 2003 stellte der damalige Bundeskanzler der rot-grünen Bundesregierung Gerhard Schröder im Bundestag sein Reformpaket, die so betitelte Agenda 2010, vor. Es sollte die größte Reform in der Geschichte des deutschen Sozialstaats werden. Durch Strukturreformen am Arbeitsmarkt und im Sozialsystem sollten mehr wirtschaftliches Wachstum und Beschäftigung geschaffen werden. Allerdings sin sieben Jahre später, im Jahr 2010, die Meinungen über die Wirkungen der verschiedenen Reformen der Agenda 2010 kontrovers. Während beispielsweise das deutsche Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung eine positive Bilanz der Reformen zieht, wird von Seiten der Wohlfahrtsverbänden kritisiert, dass diese zu einer Verschärfung der Armutsproblematik geführt hätten. Gleichzeit hat die Europäische Union das Jahr 2010 zum Europäischen Jahr zur Bekämpfung von Armut und sozialer Ausgrenzung erklärt, um damit das öffentliche Bewusstsein für die Situation von Menschen, die in Armut leben, zu stärken. Auch wenn die Armutssituation in Deutschland vielleicht nicht mit der in anderen Ländern vergleichbar ist, ist dies doch Grund genug, die Reformen der Agenda 2010 im Hinblick auf die Auswirkungen auf Armut in Deutschland zu untersuchen. Da in den 1990er Jahren durch den deutlichen Anstieg der Armutsbetroffenheit von Kindern Richard Hauser den Begriff der Infantilisierung der Armut (Hauser 1997: 76) geprägt hat, muss inzwischen allerdings eher von einer Verfestigung der Kinderarmut gesprochen werden, denn Kinder und Jugendliche sind nach wie vor die am häufigsten von Armut betroffene Bevölkerungsgruppe. Ebenso hat sich das Verständnis für Kinderarmut verändert. Wurden Kinder früher als Armutsrisiko oder als Mitbetroffene von Armut thematisiert, entwickelte sich in den letzten Jahren ein Verständnis dafür, "dass Armut b
