Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2014 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Journalismus, Publizistik, Note: 1,7, Freie Universität Berlin (Publizistik und Kommunikationswissenschaften), Veranstaltung: Organisationskommunikation mit Schwerpunkt Politische Kommunikation, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Hausarbeit werden zunächst einleitend Charakteristika des Begriffs Issue vorgestellt sowie die Vorgehensweise beim Issue-Management-Prozess geklärt. Anschließend wird verdeutlicht, dass ein zentrales Ziel von Issue Management die Reputationssicherung sein kann, und es wird herausgestellt, welche Bedeutung Reputation in der heutigen Mediengesellschaft hat. Im Mittelpunkt der Hausarbeit stehen die Besonderheiten der Mediengesellschaft und ihre Auswirkungen, wobei im Speziellen auf die Eigenarten der Reputationskonstruktion eingegangen wird. Die Herausforderungen, die in der direkten Organisationsumwelt auf eine Organisation zukommen, werden durch das Internet und im Besonderen am Beispiel von Weblogs dargelegt. Abschließend werden die Erkenntnisse nochmals zusammengefasst. Die Etablierung des Issue Management als strategisches Instrument der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit seit den 1990er Jahren geht mit der Entwicklung der modernen Mediengesellschaft einher. Insbesondere die Entstehung eines eigenlogischen Mediensystems und die damit verbundenen Medialisierungseffekte sind bedeutende Entwicklungen. Neue Dynamiken der öffentlichen Kommunikation führen zu einer dauerhaften medialen Beobachtung und öffentliche Meinungsbildungsprozesse finden ununterbrochen statt. Diese Bedingungen verlangen von Organisationen eine genaue Beobachtung der Organisationsumwelt, um potentiell bedrohliche Issues zu erkennen und existentielle Schäden durch öffentliche Konflikte zu vermeiden. Die Mitgestaltung des öffentlichen Diskurses kann dazu beitragen, das öffentliche Ansehen zu beeinflussen.
