Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 1992 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europa - Deutschland - Nachkriegszeit, Kalter Krieg, Note: Sehr gut, Universität Mannheim (Historisches Institut), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die konfliktreiche Wechselbeziehung von APO und Massenmedien nachzuzeichnen und kritisch zu bewerten. Es gilt, sowohl kommunikationswissenschaftliche als auch historische Forschungslücken zu schließen. Eine duale Vorgehensweise trägt dem interdisziplinären Ansatz Rechnung: Die geschichtliche Rekapitulation wird mit einer umfassenden Medienauswertung verknüpft. Zunächst wird die Auseinandersetzung zwischen Medien und APO vergegenwärtigt. Dabei sollen insbesondere Herkunft und theoretische Wurzeln der studentischen Vorwürfe aufgezeigt werden. Zum Verständnis wird ein Exkurs über die Entfaltung und den aktuellen Stand der Wirkungsforschung vorausgeschickt. Auf den nachfolgenden Seiten werden die Medienvorstellungen der APO und die sich daraus ableitenden Aktivitäten veranschaulicht. Eine Übersicht über die studentischen Kommunikationsmittel vervollständigt das Kapitel. In den folgenden Hauptabschnitten wird exemplarisch ermittelt, in welcher Form und in welchem Umfang studentische Anschauungen und Aktionen von den Medien aufgegriffen werden. Die Auswertung konzentriert sich auf Zeitungen, weil 1967 die Presse in das Zentrum des Geschehens rückt. Als Fixpunkt wird der Presseanalyse jeweils der eigentliche Ablauf der Dinge vorangestellt. Erst ein ausführlicher und auf die Inhaltsauswertung abgestimmter Vergleichsmaßstab gewährleistet eine Beurteilung, die über einen bloßen medienwissenschaftlichen Rahmen hinausgeht und gesellschaftliche und politische Aspekte mitberücksichtigt. Untersucht wird jeweils der Zeitraum vor und nach dem Tod Benno Ohnesorgs am 2. Juni 1967, dem Attentat auf Rudi Dutschke am 11. April 1968 und der Verabschiedung der Notstandsgesetze.
