About the Book

Howard Flomberg lived through the best and the worst of life as he stumbled through the sixties. He started his trip through life as a physically abused child. He got involved in the civil rights movement. He joined the folk movement in Greenwich Village and eventually wound up defending his life in Southeast Asia. This book is about survival. While this conversationally written book is an easy read it does have its gut-wrenching moments. It's well worth the read. May 2013
About the Author: Howard Flomberg has had the unique opportunity to have two successful careers simultaneously. At the ripe old age of 19 he was selected by the Air Force to become a computer technician. His first computer has 58,000 vacuum tubes and the computing power of a cell phone. Upon his discharge from the Air force he went on to earn two degrees in Computer Information Systems After College, Flomberg spent about 30 years developing Information Systems as everything from a jr. programmer to a database administrator and a project manager. He consulted at many Fortune 500 companies, He worked for Ross Perot in two companies. He blazed the trail on Quality Assurance and Methodologies. While working in Industry, Flomberg started teaching part time at his Alma Mater, Metropolitan State University of Denver. At first he taught the topics that were needed in the late 70's and early 80's: COBOL, Systems Analysis and Design, and Mainframe JCL. But as the industry changed Flomberg changed his teaching direction to management science. He taught Business Statistics, Advanced Business Statistics, and other management courses. He was given the opportunity to build his dream Course, Management Decision Theory. He wrote the Textbook and had a ball. Howard Flomberg is now retired from both careers, three if you include dodging mortar shells and rockets, and is going to relax, write and consult.
