About the Book

The fate and freedom of mankind hangs in the balance as the Syndicate launches the final phase of its plan of domination. With three calamitous world events, it begins on October 10, 2020, the first quintet-double day in world history. How and when it will end will come to light as amazing developments unfold. Extraordinary phenomena are happening to seven ordinary men and women, causing their paths to cross and directing them to unite and embark on an uncertain and dangerous mission. That perilous journey will ultimately lead them to confrontation with SUN - the powerful worldwide syndicate. This secret, ruthless organization has been in the process of infiltrating governments around the globe for seventy-five years. Its sinister plan also includes dominating the world's financial, religious, educational, scientific, and healthcare institutions. Once military superiority is achieved, nothing will be able to stop it. SUN's men-only leadership has but one goal: to become the masters of the entire planet, making slaves of all people. All that stands in their way are a small band of disparate, initially clueless, would-be liberators, and a determined group of dissenters within SUN. Momentous discoveries from the past and new revelations about the Shroud of Turin provide clues in the struggle, and give hope for the coming conflict. But who are these unlikely intended emancipators, and what incredible events and revelations have brought them together at this specific point in time?TYLER UTLEY's young son, Tye has been totally dependent on others his entire life. He cannot walk and he cannot talk. Yet, Tyler heard him speak! But what do his three words mean, and why were they spoken?Reverend JOSHUA JONES still mourns for his exceptionally gifted daughter, Neriah Grace. She, along with Isaac, a pre-civil war slave with a distinctive scar and a powerful flicker light gift, communicate with the aging preacher in his dreams. But what is the meaning of the mysterious message they bring? NURIL MUSA is part of a breakthrough light study funded and controlled by SUN. Amazing images are captured, providing startling glimpses of the past, and contradicting the tenants of his Islamic beliefs. PAULA MCDONALD, Tyler's loyal office manager, gets a phone call from Carrie Ann Mentor, Tyler's first love in high school. Paula later learns that Carrie Ann has died - more than a year prior to the call! Further inquiry will reveal a long-kept letter to Tyler with a message that will change his life forever. SAM GOLDMAN learns he has the ability to interpret dreams. His gift will prove invaluable in deciphering Joshua's strange dream and its relevance for the group. But his team's discovery from a dig site near the Red Sea has the potential to change the world, and will severely test his Jewish faith. MAX TURNER is head of the chemistry department at N.C. State - and an atheist. Ironically, he heads up the team that will perform new carbon dating on the Shroud of Turin when the Vatican selects State as one of six Universities to test the ancient relic. The results, and other remarkable discoveries about The Shroud, are interwoven throughout the story and provide clues to the group's meaning and purpose.BEVERLY ANN MENTOR, beautiful daughter of Carrie Ann, is a dissenter within the Syndicate, and her dual roles place her in a unique position to challenge SUN, but also puts her in grave danger. These seven unlikely protagonists, with their own distinct gifts and abilities, are mysteriously woven together to unveil the sparks of light that will guide humanity through its deepest and darkest shrouded way.
About the Author: Taylor Uzzell has been blessed with deep North Carolina SMALL town roots. He was born in Hamlet, raised in Laurinburg and Cary (small back then), and now lives in Apex (Cary's cross-county rival). But his life experiences have been BIG. Taylor has been married to Susan for more than 52 years despite his many faults and screw-ups. He is the father of a beautiful daughter, Carrie, and, for twenty-two years, a special son, Tay, Both of their personalities are reflected in the pages of this endeavor. Taylor has experienced the heartache of the suicide deaths of two important people in his life, and that pain is penned within the cover of this work. But Taylor has been blest with the enjoyment of experiencing the day-to-day lives of three wonderful grandsons - Oliver, Finn, and Jett. (He continues to try to train his son-in-law, Jim in the art of easy Southern living - with some success!)This is Taylor's first book, and the first book in The Shrouded Way Saga. It has provided more than two years of pleasurable pursuit. From his early years, Stephen Uzzell has been drawn to nature with its many wonders and beauties. He often explored the wild of his familiar North Carolina mountains, piedmont, and native sandhill regions. His steps also led him through the Colorado Rockies and his wife Janie's native cascades in Washington. Her allure has held his excitement for over forty-six years, despite his daydreaming. Their musically talented daughter, Anna is the joy of their lives. Other joys have pulled Stephen into creative photography and journalism with easy distractions toward music and history. Storytelling often brings these into a pleasurable focus for him. So when brother Taylor invited him to help spin one, they were barefoot on adventure in the sandhill's again.Stephen and his family reside in Mint Hill, N.C.
