Mai 1963 hielt Theodor W. Adorno am Institut für Bildungsforschung einen Vortrag, der stichwortartig im Jahr 1965 unter dem Titel "Tabus über dem Lehrberuf" veröffentlicht wurde. Adorno beleuchtet die tragische Situation der Lehrer aus unterschiedlichen Blickwinkeln heraus. Grundlagen hierfür bilden jedoch keinesfalls empirische Untersuchungen - wie er selbst betont - vielmehr stützt Adorno seine Ausführungen auf Erfahrungen mit Absolventen der Lehrämter. In der nachfolgenden Ausarbeitung soll zunächst ein kurzer biographischer Abriss Adornos erfolgen, denn sein Leben im 20. Jahrhundert, geprägt vom Nationalsozialismus und Exil, steht untrennbar im Zusammenhang mit seinem Denken. Danach gehe ich knapp auf seine 'negative Dialektik' ein, um die Argumentationsstruktur des Aufsatzes zu verdeutlichen. Das Hauptanliegen der nachfolgenden Ausarbeitung liegt allerdings darin, die unterschiedlichen Perspektiven zu skizzieren, aus denen heraus Adorno die Abneigung gegen den Lehrerberuf begründet. Im Anschluss daran werden Adornos Problemlösungsansätze vorgestellt. Abschließend findet eine Reflexion bezüglich der Aktualität der unterschiedlichen Dimensionen, die zur Abneigung gegen den Lehrberuf führen, statt, auf deren Basis das Fazit formuliert wird. Theodor Wiesengrund Adorno (1903-1969) wird als Sohn des deutsch-jüdischen Weinhändlers Oscar Alexander Wiesengrund und seiner Frau, der genuesisch-korsisch-deutschen Sängerin Maria Calvelli-Adorno, in Frankfurt/Main geboren.
