About the Book

Old houses are also like old people who concealed in themselves the unfulfilled cravings; this tale is about an abandoned cottage, a cottage abandoned by time with a tale, A Tale Of Ten Candles. Centuries ago there was a King who was passionate about horror tales and especially the true tales. He uses to give golden greet to the narrators of horror tales and extra booty to those who tell him true tales but soon guided by their greed the visitors started telling false stories claiming them to be true. To tackle this treachery, the king with the help of an African black magician invented a new game, a game which gives genesis to fear, A Tale Of Ten Candles. The rules were simple but mandatory. On every Amavasya (No Moon Night) ten teller of tales will sit forming a circle with a candle burning in front of each of them and they should narrate their stories one by one. After every story, the candle will be blown off by itself if the tale would have been true or the story teller had to put his candle off by himself. So, as the game increases the darkness seems its denser form and one by one all candles were supposed to be off. If all the stories were fake then the final tale will be narrated by a cursed witch and the judge of this game in complete darkness and the cost of the dishonesty of story tellers would have been their lives and if even a single tale was proven to be true then the game was won by narrators and their one wish had been granted to them. The turn of time torn away not only the dark beliefs and systems but also the influence and powers of Kings and emperors still, the fire underneath the ashes was waiting for just a single stroke of wind of time to revive itself. And that gust of wind was provided by few teenagers who were returning from Goa after celebrating their new year evening and their van got stuck in the middle of their voyage. While seeking the shelter to avoid the dark night and dense forest in a drizzling rain which was escalating the cold weather they get inside an age old wooden cottage. A cottage of an old Indian hunter who brought with himself one of the oldest curse present on the planet, that same bloody game, A Tale Of Ten Candles. The hunter was hunted by a man eater tigress and his belongings were left in his cottage, untouched since ages. Curved by their curiosity these unwanted guests find a wooden box and somehow they unleased the curse by starting the game to shred off the night but soon the night started shredding their lives. Was it really a curse of any psycho among them? The stories within a story..... The story running parallel to darkness..... The story seeking for its first winner over centuries....... Trapped teenagers, a waiting witch, and a game.............. No matter how fast light can travel, the darkness is always present waiting for it
