Martha O'Brien has already faced a tornado, a broken bike, and a brutal attack on the first leg of her life-changing journey.
To her many fans, she is an angelic warrior on a heroic forty-eight-state bicycle trip. But Leo Pospisle is sure there's some dark secret behind Martha's adventure, and he intends to write about her alleged affair with the much younger Jake Mason for the nation's top-selling tabloid.
Martha and Jake do have a very special relationship. And Martha is hiding a secret-the secret of her attempted suicide. However, she is no cougar. Martha loves her new husband, Bart, but wishes she could really trust him. But Bart isn't making it easy with the way he's acting toward Jill Turbine.
As Martha prepares to ride from Lincoln City, Oregon, to Albuquerque, New Mexico, she wonders about Bart. He seems to be the only team member who doesn't see through Jill's nasty, duplicitous personality-and that includes Jill's husband, Barry, and his brother, Greg.
Despite hidden agendas and evil intentions that could threaten her life, Martha is determined to go the distance while hoping her own secret will just go away.
But secrets never go away.
About the Author: Elizabeth A. Finley has been a writer at heart since attending Cathedral High School in Omaha, Nebraska. However, her father's wishes that she study science and math kept her from pursuing her dreams. Those classes helped her hone her skills in the corporate world, and she enjoyed success as an administrative assistant to several companies throughout her career. Despite this, the writing bug never left her.
While working for Catholic Charities in Colorado Springs, she met the Reverend Michael O'Donnell, PhD, an accomplished author. And with his encouragement, she began writing her first novel, Going the Distance. Published in September 2014, it is the first book of this series.
She currently lives in Colorado Springs with her dog, Vanna, more commonly known as the Queen. She looks forward to continuing the saga of Martha O'Brien and Jake Mason as they continue to make their way on this journey called life.
