About the Book

True to its title, these twenty Tangy Tales of Touché shout out the splendor, power, passages and healing properties inherent to Mother Nature, who absolutely knows best and who is far more forgiving and kind than the humans who use her or abuse her. Deep within Mother's nurturing and purifying nature, she exhibits wide extremes from which we can learn the essence and interplay among wind, earth, space, fire and water - and their shared hugs and handshakes resulting in the creation of vast energy fields when they dance together. Just like these five rudiments comprise Mother, they also reside and collide within everything which reflects you and me. What about Mother? On the one hand, she is highly ordered by balance and harmony; while, on the other hand, she remains constant in her exhibition of a tousled appearance, realigned by ostensibly chaotic changes, such as erupting volcanos, massive earthquakes, surging tsunamis, dynamic typhoons, swirling cyclones and damaging hurricanes. Each time disheveled, after wreaking havoc on her inhabitants and rearranging Her landscapes, She returns to Her calming posture of balance and harmony, where Her ebb and flow becomes once again naturally healing. What can we learn from our Mother? The lessons are many, as illustrated throughout the storytelling. Her prevailing prophesy is "life's only constant is change," ever-shifting alterations and corrections rubbing together and sending off boundless waves of energy during the process.
About the Author: Russ Martin is a retired businessman, educator, researcher and health care worker. His professional career includes America's finest: Hewlett Packard, Ameritech, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Cornell University. He resides in Siem Reap, walking distance from the World Heritage site and wonder of the world, the Angkor Wat complex. He found The Community for Khmer Villages, a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization where he serves as a full-time volunteer. His is a strong advocate of learning to listen - to the energies and movements of Mother Nature and to the solemnity and gravity from within each of us. It is his belief that creativity is the core meaning of life, as we're all here to be inspired and ingenious and connected. In the long-haul, his mantra is to: be healthy; be helpful; be happy - just 'be.' Creativity, of course, necessitates change, while learning to master the skills of 'I am balance' and 'I am harmony.' His co-authors are a couple of characters. Touché is an articulate nineteen-year old Congo African Gray parrot with the bounce of Spring in every his move. Kast Macanta is a weathered man in the Winter of his life. Together, they move the world, honoring the waltz of Mother and her Moon, while understanding the push-pull of their own earth-moon synergy and resulting symbiotic relationship.
