About the Book

A romantic suspense, Tenderfoot takes place on a working cattle ranch in 1980, the year the world remembers for the catastrophic eruption of Mount St. Helens. Corrie Stephens is eager to learn about ranching, but reluctant to become involved with a man-it's just not worth the heartache. Rancher J McClure, on the other hand, has been alone too long. Tenderfoot draws the reader into the story's strong emotions based on family, love, and the first hand adventure of the eruption of Mount St. Helens.
About the Author: Mary E. Trimble, award-winning novelist, lives with her husband on Camano Island, Washington. Four children and six grandchildren, most of whom live in the Northwest, play an important role in Mary s life. Her novel Tenderfoot, is a romantic suspense novel set around the 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption. A memoir, Tubob: Two Years in West Africa with the Peace Corps, details the author and her husband's experiences in The Gambia. Trimble's earlier coming-of-age novels, Rosemount and McClellan's Bluff have met with enthusiastic acclaim. McClellan s Bluff was the EPIC 2004 Winner for Young Adult Fiction. A prolific writer and author of 400-plus magazine and newspaper articles, Trimble draws on personal experiences including purser and ship's diver aboard the tall ship, M.S. Explorer; two years with the Peace Corps in West Africa; a 13,000-mile South Pacific sailing trip aboard their 40-foot Bristol, Impunity; and extensive overland RV trips. The author finds researching to be one of the greatest pleasures of writing. Preparing for Tenderfoot, she interviewed many people who were on or near Mount St. Helens when it erupted. In addition to horse-back riding for pleasure, she has also worked round-up in Eastern Washington. Mary is an active member of Women Writing the West, Pacific Northwest Writers Association, The Authors Guild and Electronically Published Internet Connection.
