Paranthaaman is a Tamil Professor. Tamil being his mother tongue, his love for Tamil is great. He always thinks about Tamil only, throughout his lifetime. He collected old-time books on literature, epics, poems etc from time to time, for his reading in-depth and hold discussions, dialogues with various eminent persons in Tamil works, at frequent intervals.
Kanaka is the only daughter of Paranthaaman. When she took up college studies, she got acquaintance of a young man of European origin, by name Aardaa. They soon fell in love with each other and decide to marry. Aardaa comes from a European royal family. His ancestors were ruling a small country, but by the World War period, the royal family people and close relatives had to flee to different countries because of the enemy's threat. Even after a hundred years, the present generation of those people could not find a way to locate their homeland to settle there.
This being so, as written in their religious book, those community people decide to crown Aardaa as their Prince. With their support, Aardaa and his beloved one Kanagaa were announced as King and Queen, with the belief that Aardaa will soon get his royal stature in their homeland.
While Paranthaaman earlier did not approve the love affair between his daughter with the foreigner Aardaa, since he became sick due to illness and could not move out of bed, he gave green signal to Kanaka to marry Aarda. Before he breathed his last, he handed over all his Tamil book collections to his daughter and she promised her father that she would continue to glorify the Tamil works in his memory.
How the Tamil collections of Paranthaaman helped Aarda to get back to his homeland, which could not be achieved all these hundred and twenty years, is the rest of the story.
