-ABOUT THE BOOK: That One Face. One of the greatest challenges for the early New Testament churches was understanding and explaining the nature of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Trinity. Faced with persecution from without and heretical challenges from within, the first pastors and church leaders searched the Scriptures to understand how Jesus could be both God and man. With the Bible as their guide, they grappled with differing views and the implications of those views. That One Face is their story of triumph and, sometimes, heretical missteps. This historical and theological study will remind us of the great treasures of Scripture and the incredible work of the Lord in guiding His churches as they formulated these essential doctrines.
