Und schließlich, welche Impulse lassen sich von den Eigenheiten der literarischen Konstruktion in der Jugendliteratur und ihrer «anderen» Leser und Leserinnen für die gegenwärtigen Debatten in der Literaturwissenschaft und -theorie über die Funktion und den Platz von (Print)Literatur im elektronischen Medienzeitalter ableiten? Diese Fragen stehen im Zentrum der Untersuchung der amerikanischen Jugendliteratur, wie sie in diesem Buch anhand einer breit angelegten kritischen Diskussion der Entwicklungsetappen und der literarischen Besonderheiten des Genres im Kontext der Theoriebildung in den USA, Kanada, Großbritannien und der Bundesrepublik sowie anhand der Deutung markanter Erzählparadigmen der literarischen Repräsentation von Adoleszenz in ausgewählten Jugendromanen seit den 1960er Jahren entfaltet wird.
About the Author: Der Autor: Reinhard Isensee absolvierte nach dem Studium der Anglistik, Amerikanistik und Germanistik sowie dem Erwerb der Qualifikationen als Lehrer ein postgraduales Studium in der Amerikanistik an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Dort promovierte er zur Literatur des Naturalismus in den USA und habilitierte sich im Jahre 2002 zur amerikanischen Jugendliteratur. Er lehrt amerikanische Literatur und Kultur an der Humboldt Universität und hat zahlreiche Forschungs- und Lehraufenthalte als Gastwissenschaftler in den USA sowie an verschiedenen europäischen Universitäten absolviert.
