The last decade of the twentieth century had one very
significant development to offer, that was the mass
acceptance of, not so recent in origin, medium of
information and communications technology,
particularly, the Internet.
'The Net', 'The Web' etc are some of the phrases that
caught the imagination of the masses, industry people
& academics, alike. Whatever be the name used to refer
to it, the fact remains that today we have come to a
situation when URLs and E-Mail addresses are almost
an integral part of any resume, visit card and corporate
brochure, a far cry from the pre-1992 when Internet
was confined to a small group of people and
institutions.
