Derartige Transplan- tate heilen rasch ein, indem sich an die erste Phase der Knochenneubildung durch vitale transplantierte Zellen ohne immunologische Probleme innerhalb weniger Tage dann gleichsam uberlappend nach wenigen Wochen zusatzlich die zweite Phase der induzierten Knochenneubildung anschlie6t. Dieses qualitativ hOchstwertige Material steht jedoch nur begrenzt zur VerfUgung. Urn es zu verwenden, wird ein gleichzeitig durchzufUhrender zusatzlicher operativer Eingriff erforderlich, fur den die Indikation nicht nur beim alteren Menschen sorgfal- tig abgewogen werden muG. Die Entnahme verlangert die Dauer der Gesamtopera- tion, hinterla6t eine zusiitzliche Narbe und ist im ubrigen selbstverstandlich wie andere Eingriffe auch mit allen typischen Operationsgefahren behaftet. 1m Vergleich zur autologen Knochentransplantation kommt daher der Etablierung alternativer Verfahren ein hoher Stellenwert zu, soweit dadurch keine gravierenden Nachteile in Kauf genommen werden mussen. 2 2 Aligemeiner Oberblick 2. 1 Kurze Obersicht zur historischen Entwicklung der Knochentransplantation Sieht man von der Schopfungsgeschichte ab, so wird die erste dokumentierte Kno- chentransplantation im 17. Jahrhundert dem hollandischen Arzt Job van Meekeren [lll] zugeschrieben, der einen Schadelknochendefekt bei einem Soldaten mit dem Knochentransplantat eines Hundes deckte.
