About the Book

Combining fact and fiction, The Third Cell is a startling narrative of one man's chilling transformation from orphan to international terrorist.

The Third Cell reflects the turmoil of today's world, commencing with Al Nakba, the forced exodus of 700,000 Palestinians from Palestine to TransJordan in 1948.

Four-year-old Nasih Rahman, a young Palestinian, witnesses the tragic death of his parents by the Israeli Defense Forces during Black September. The image of the carnage haunts him for the rest of his life. His Uncle Ahman, an Islamic radical, uses Nasih to seek revenge upon Israel and the United States for the years of persecution of his fellow Palestinians.

Ahman sets in place a plot to have Nasih and two cohorts steal the identities of three Jewish orphans in England. The terrorists now posing as Jewish students, are granted graduate studies in the United States, and eventually become citizens. They infiltrate the security infrastructure for communities and nuclear power plants, launching a terrorist attack that is both terrifying and wholly believable.

About the Author: Anthony D'Egidio is a native of the Hudson Valley in New York State and a graduate of Pace University. After three decades of a diverse career, working for a Fortune 50 company, he retired, to travel and write. The 9/11 attack made me question the security within the United States. I believed that the United States is extremely venerable to another terrorist attack, which could be even more devastating than 9/11 had rendered. I became concerned after reading about the lack of security at our nuclear generating sites, and the corporate mentality that would sacrifice human lives for profits and stockholder dividends. This prompted me to write "The Third Cell" as an alert to our government. The complex nature of the novel required thousands of hours of research and took five years to write. Since originally publishing the novel in 2008, many of the 'fictional scenarios' have come true, especially stated in the last section of the book, 'In Retrospect' where I outline how our entire intelligent community has now been compromised by giving away vital United States Technology to an Islamic Regime in the Middle East.
