About the Book

life is a piece of music composed by amateurs Three Chords And The Truth is a search story. It tells how indiscriminate happenstance puts three musicians on the road together. A marriage has to be mended; a river sings of death, as does the Nullarbor Plain of the Australian outback; a wandering poet tells of Vietnam and fishing; love gets lost and found; the clueless century staggers along its journey. Ray, harmonica expert and devotee of Leonard Cohen, goes searching for his missing, grieving wife; Charlie, gifted wizard of the lagerphone ponders on whether to return to his drab life at the Holbrook Joinery Company or follow the seductions of show business; Eddie, once-famous acid guitarist, is grasping at memories of times past, never knowing whether he has a child or not, he claims that life is merely a piece of music composed by amateurs. This travellin' man had a guitar that eventually took him around the world. He knew what it was like to bring screaming thousands to their feet. He understood the beauty of the perfect riff, the gut wrench sob of a guitar, he was blood brother to the lonely whisperings and sweet tears of an acoustic, to the singers of ballads
