About the Book

Within each Tom Swift novel there are a couple major characters who you get to know, and a lot of secondary characters who walk in, say a few lines, and walk out. You never get the chance to know who they are other that in that context I have set about writing back stories for these people. The novels may not have the 9,000 - 15,000 words to devote to giving you a good background story about them, but these collections do. This second book contains stories about the first major invention from a young Tom Swift Jr., an adventure of his cousin as he tries to locate a giant and cursed diamond in Afghanistan, one of Enterprises' top test pilots tells about what he knows and how he has managed to survive so many crash landings, the story about the day Bud Barclay came back to Enterprises after having worked as a civilian astronaut-and not because of happy reasons-, and finally a bonus story about young Tom Swift and how he helped save the Christmas spirit for his little sister.
About the Author: T. Edward Fox is the author of nearly two-dozen short and novella-length stories dealing with both the individual characters in the world of Tom Swift as well as over two-dozen tales of the famous young inventor's inventions. In early 2014 he completed his 14th Tom Swift novel and has 3 more coming in the next year or so. He is, like a lot of authors of series like Tom Swift, is a pseudonym. Unlike a lot of such writers, he actually exists. Just not by that name. Mr. Fox was once a candidate to become a Space Shuttle Payload Specialis back in the mid-1970s. Unfortunately, and obviously through some oversight by NASA, the requirement of having an "advanced degree" such as a Masters of Doctorate was not in the entry package. He is supposed to have made it through the first cut taking the 7,400 or so down to a more manageable 1,500, but that's where the fun stopped. At the tender age of only 22, and with only a couple years of college under his belt at that time (and just 8 months to get that big sheepskin) he had to withdraw his application. Cue the tearful violin music and get out your handkerchiefs.
