Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Filmwissenschaft, Note: 1.0, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Apocalypse Now ist ein Antikriegsfilm des Regisseurs F. F. Coppola aus dem Jahre 1979 bzw. 2001 (Director's Cut), das durch seine Handlung die Sinnlosigkeit des Vietnamkrieges thematisiert. Das Drehbuch basiert auf Joseph Conrads Novelle He-art of Darkness . Die Handlung verlegte Coppola von Zentralafrika nach Vietnam und Kambodscha. Walter Murch gewann für Apocalypse Now 1980 den Oscar für die beste Ton-gestaltung und etablierte den Begriff des Sound-Designs . Der Film benutzt als erster Film der Filmgeschichte ein 70mm Six Track Dolby Stereo surround sound-System und beeindruckt durch seine immense Sounddichte und Quadraphonic. Allgemein wird der Sound in Apocalypse Now als eigenes stilistisches Mittel eingesetzt, das den Inhalt nicht nur unterstützt, sondern auch autonom als Inhaltsträ-ger agiert. Der Sound wird im Film oft subjektiviert, d.h. dass die Umgebungsgeräu-sche aus der subjektiven Wahrnehmung eines Protagonisten simuliert werden. Auch das Bild hat im Film durch die extreme Farbigkeit, z.B. durch das Einsetzen farbiger Rauchfackeln, eine realitätsferne, halluzinatorische (und ästhetische) Komponente. Ich werden in meiner Sound-Analyse zuerst den Key Sound des Films als sol-ches klassifizieren und anschließend die Subjektivierung des Sounds im Film anhand der Anfangsszene Waiting in Saigon analysieren. Im folgenden werde ich die Unterschiede zwischen Leitmotiv und Key Sound herausarbeiten, um darauf den berühmten Helikopter-Sound aus Apocalypse Now als Key Sound einordnen zu können. Reinhold Brinckmann definiert den Terminus Leitmotiv als die "Bezeichnung für eine prägnante musikalische Gestalt, die in wortgebundener oder programma-tischer Musik einem bestimmten dichterischen Moment (einer Idee, Sache, Person u. ä.) zugeordnet ist und im musikalischen Text immer dann erscheint, wenn dieses dramatisch-poeti
