Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Didaktik - Deutsch - Pädagogik, Sprachwissenschaft, Note: 1,5, Technische Universität Dresden (Institut Germanistik), Veranstaltung: Grundprobleme der Literaturdidaktik, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die menschliche Psyche und ihre Darstellung in der Architektur, in den Räumen des Romans "Die Elixiere des Teufels" von E.T.A. Hoffmann, spielen für die vorliegende Arbeit eine zentrale Rolle. Die zentrale Quelle ist das Werk selbst, anhand dessen ich versuchte, die wesentlichen Räume und ihre Bedeutung, sowie die damit zusammenhängenden Handlungen genau zu erfassen. Es soll versucht werden, den Roman anhand seiner Räume aufzuschließen als eine Möglichkeit der Erarbeitung in der Schule. Für die Verbindung zwischen Dichtung und Architektur war Norbert Millers Buch "Strawberry Hill" über Horace Walpole als (dilettantischer) Architekt und Dichter eine unerlässliche Quelle in diesem Zusammenhang. Aber auch Bachelards "Poetik des Raumes" lieferte einige wichtige Einsichten zum Thema Psyche und Raum. Einleitend soll Hoffmanns Biografie um die Zeit der Entstehung des ersten Teils der "Elixiere des Teufels" betrachtet werden, sowie die verschiedenen Einflüsse auf den Roman. Dabei wird Horace Walpoles Schaffen ausführlicher Beachtung finden. Denn er begründete nicht nur den Schauerroman, sondern er zählt auch als Vorläufer des gothic revival in der Architektur (außerdem hinterließ er neben den indirekten auch ganz direktre Spuren in Hoffmanns Roman). Im Anschluss soll es um die einzelnen Räume in den "Elixieren" gehen, wobei ich mich auf das Kloster und seine Gegenwelt, das Schloss, beschränkte (doch auch Totengewölbe, Kerker und Wald werden betrachtet). Ergebnis dieser Untersuchungen ist ein Schema, welches den Roman in Abschnitte je nach Handlungsorten einteilt. Diese stimmen nur zum Teil mit der Einteilung Hoffmanns in Abschnitte überein.
