About the Book

Are you a Tradeshow SUPERHERO? Or are you an Exhibiting ZOMBIE? Tradeshow marketing can be one of the most profitable and fun marketing channels a company can engage in (the SUPERHERO side). It can also be one of the most frustrating and expensive (the ZOMBIE side). TradeshowGuy Tim Patterson started his TradeshowGuy Blog in December of 2008, and has been blogging about events and tradeshow marketing every since. The most-read posts are lists. After all, lists are easy to read and they explain things in an orderly method. 66 Lists Making the Most of Your Tradeshow Marketing With dozens and dozens of lists published in nearly a decade, Tim decided it was time to compile a book of lists. These have been reviewed, revised and updated when necessary. Topics include budgeting, buying an exhibit, pre-show marketing, what to do during a show, lead generation, post-show follow-up, the whys and hows of tradeshow marketing, and several lists of just FUN stuff that surround a tradeshow, including the top ten superheroes you'll see at a tradeshow. And of course, a couple of zombie lists for good measure! What do industry colleagues say about Tim and his latest book? "I dare you to implement 10% of Tim's suggestions and NOT have your best show ever! I List-o-pedia of everything to consider when you exhibit, from airfare to zombies." - Andy Saks, Spark Presentations "'Tradeshow Superheroes and Exhibiting Zombies' is a comprehensive collection of tradeshow wisdom. Even the most experienced tradeshow veteran will find hints, tips and tricks for saving money and improving your tradeshow results." - Anders Boulanger, The Infotainer "If you are going to refer to yourself as the 'TradeshowGuy' on Social Media, you damn well better be...that guy! Well, as someone who has produced tradeshows for almost thirty years, I can state unequivocally that Tim Patterson IS. His knowledge of tradeshow strategy and logistics is unparalleled. And his generosity over the years in sharing his expertise has benefitted the industry enormously. I am honored to have him as a business association and able to call him friend." - Ken Newman, President/CEO, Magnet Productions What are you waiting for? Don your cape and get your superhero powers going now!
About the Author: Tim started TradeshowGuy Blog in November 2008 as a way to "try that new blogging thing everyone is talking about" and see if he could make it stick. Hundreds of posts and nearly a decade later the blog still going strong. In naming TradeshowGuy Blog as one of the top industry blogs, Hello Trive online digest calls Tim Patterson an "absolute expert of the tradeshow industry;" Nimlok Exhibits, in a top ten industry blog listing, calls Tim's TradeshowGuy Blog "hilarious, thoughtful and informative" and Dio says Tim is a "true tradeshow pro with a blog chock full of tips and best practices to get maximum ROI." Tim calls himself an old drummer and disk jockey who found new life at the turn of the century in the events and tradeshow industry. An old radio colleague gave him the TradeshowGuy moniker totally by accident! He's run his own business, TradeshowGuy Exhibits, since 2011. Tim is an author, blogger, speaker, podcaster and a business advisor. He spent 26 years on-air in the radio industry; has played in uncountable rock bands in unknowable clubs and forgotten the lyrics to more oldies than you'll ever hear. Since joining the tradeshow industry in 2002, Tim's exhibiting clients have included Bob's Red Mill, Kettle Foods, Nancy's Yogurt, Schmidt's Naturals, Dave's Killer Bread, Wedderspoon, Meduri Farms, Hyland's, Betterment, Marquis Spas, US Army Corp of Engineers, Oregon State Marine Board, Oregon Department of Forestry, ATI Wah Chang, and many others. He has given presentations at annual conferences of the Event Marketing Summit and the Experiential Designers and Producers Association (EDPA), and spoken before private groups. This is Tim's second book. Look for his first: Tradeshow Success: 14 Proven Steps to Take Your Tradeshow Marketing to the Next Level.
