About the Book

Within gardens all over the world live some very small funny looking people. They are no bigger than your hand. They look a bit like fish but with some very big differences. They wear caps, hooded tops and they can rap. These little people have the ability to live and swim in water. But they can also walk, talk and survive on land. They also have another very special talent. When they pull on their hooded top cords they can make themselves grow in size. This is very useful to them as you will discover later within the story. Their job is to look after the roots of trees, weeds and wild flowers. Their job is very important with dangers at every turn. They live in underground tunnels, underneath trees. This is a wet and cold place. They are known as Tricksters. Tricksters is their nickname because when they are not working keeping trees, weeds and wild flowers alive and healthy they enjoy nothing better than coming out of their underground tunnels and playing tricks on children. Tricksters play tricks on children to get them into trouble with their parents. They find this so funny. They can't stop laughing, dancing and singing. Laughter and fun is very important to a Trickster. Laughter gives them powers to grow in size by pulling on their hooded top cords. The leaders of Tricksters or the people they take their orders from are trees. Not your everyday tree. We are talking about special trees, trees that have faces and the ability to talk. Have you ever looked at a tree and thought to yourself, that tree is looking at me, or I can see a face within that tree? Well, you were possibly right! You will be following a group of five Tricksters. They are the naughtiest Tricksters in the whole wide world. Their names are Magnar, Limpton, Lady Nashners, Jarver and Sinster. Tricksters are not nasty people, they just find playing tricks on children and getting them into trouble with their parents very funny, and so will you as you follow their naughty trick playing. For ages 5 to 9 years. Great for parents to read with their children or for children to read independently. Humour and fun for all.56 pages full of engaging and enchanting illustrations from start to finish.
